The Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (VLFM) Program for Senior Managers

The Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (VLFM) program was introduced in India to address a critical need for transforming technically skilled managers into visionary leaders capable of driving innovation and navigating the complexities of modern manufacturing.

Now welcoming its 19th batch, VLFM has trained over 1,400 senior managers, creating 450+ success stories and transforming 200+ organizations over the past 18 years. The program goes beyond incremental improvements, fostering 10x breakthroughs and equipping participants with a global learning exposure to Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0.

With guidance from India’s top industry leaders and experts, VLFM provides a unique platform for leadership development, collaboration, and industrial transformation, making a lasting impact on India’s manufacturing landscape. The program creates leaders who can bridge the gap between the shop floor and top management, fostering a culture of sustainable growth.

The programme focuses on transformation through mindset change and skill building.

Three transformation principles of VLFM are:

•  See manufacturing beyond Big ‘M’, leading to Industry 4.0
•  Build skills, not only learn concepts
•  Change mindset, not only deploy tools and techniques

The programme was initiated under the mentorship of Prof. Shoji Shiba, Padmashree Awarded in 2012 and a world-renowned authority in Manufacturing Leadership skills & techniques, along with other experienced visionary practitioners from industry. Now led by faculty from Industry with massive experience in VLFM, certified by Prof. Shiba.

Designed in a modular format to enable learn-apply-learn approach, the Programme ends with a Japan visit module which helps participants to understand the global business environment.
